By request, and since we have the Dixie Echoes' piano player amongst us, here's a question about the group!
When they joined up with the Gospel Singing Jubilee cast at the show's inception, they also began recording for Canaan Records...what was the catalog number of the Dixie Echoes' first album for Canaan...and the album's name?

Apparently not...despite your excellent clue!
So I will...as Dean hinted two posts ago...the title of the Dixie Echoes first album for Canaan was called "Echoing"(CA-4610/CAS-9610), released in early 1966!
OK, Spike...I tried to get Echoes fans amd members alike interested in playing along...but it seems they weren't that anxious this time! I'll try again soon, though!

If their first release was in 1966. And it appears that they were no longer recording for Canaan in 1973. When di they leave? (I'm asking. I do not know the answer.)

Bill...I don't know exactly when they left...all I know is that the last album the Dixie Echoes made for Canaan was "Exciting and Inspiring"(CA-4649/CAS-9649)in 1968!
They recorded on several labels after that.

Did they only record three albums? Were they under exclusive contract while they were with Canaan?

Bill, I only found three DE albums on my Canaan list...besides the two mentioned previously in this thread, the middle album of the lot was "Coming on Strong"(CA-4623/CA-9623)in late 1966!
I don't know if their contract with Canaan was exclusive or not!
